Wylladine “Wyll’s” is young, African, and free. At 21, she’s learning the "guidelines" of being an adult, oscillating between failure, success, joy, and fear.
It can be scary to try things when you don’t know how and where to start, but that is the beauty of life: gaining some experience and shaping the future. Being a model is an expression of Wylladine’s self-confidence. It’s in these moments that she can stop the ongoing race in her mind, look at herself in the mirror, and become fond of all the parts of her identity as a human being. These moments, free from the stress of life, allow her to express herself fully without shame and judgment, which is her main reason to give love and attention to her work.
What is the most important detail in your practice?
The simplicity. Even if I find myself on extravagant and non-standard projects, in terms of make-up, production, script, or shooting, simplicity is where I always find myself the most. I don't need to be in the extreme to have the feeling of accomplishing something. The happy medium between extreme north and south is a detail that I like.
